About Tanya

Tanya Somerton, Founder of Reviewly

I didn't come from marketing. I came from operations, and I'm a qualified auditor.

I spent years in airport operations and infrastructure project environments where processes aren't optional, budgets are accountable, and systems either work or they don't. I worked as an Operations Ground Transport Manager across landside operations, accountable for $10 million in operational expenditure and part of a $360 million capital build program across major Melbourne Airport projects including Terminal 4, Terminal 4 Car Park, and Airport Drive.

My formal auditing training includes Quality Auditing (BSBAUD402B) and Management Systems Auditing (BSBAUD504B), completed around 2011 to 2012. That training shaped how I think, review what's real, verify what's true, and build what stands up under scrutiny.

In 2016, I founded Divorce Angel, a project created to support people navigating separation. During that chapter, I wrote The Jelly Bean Jar, created the Divorce Angel Podcast, and built a global audience from scratch. That business is no longer active, but the work shaped how I think about trust, communication, and clarity when people are making high-stakes decisions.

Working with marketing companies during that time showed me a recurring problem. Business owners were paying for services they didn't need, receiving reports that didn't connect to outcomes, and being sold tactics that didn't match their market.

So I brought my auditor's lens to visibility.

Reviewly exists to close the gap between what is promised and what actually moves the needle. Not by doing more marketing, but by building the foundations that make marketing work, clarity, structure, and trust signals that hold up when both customers and AI systems are deciding who to choose.

I've always been obsessed with learning and where things are heading. I saw AI changing how people discover and choose businesses before most of the industry took it seriously. Reviewly isn't AI-first because it's trendy — it's AI-first because that's where trust is being evaluated now, and I'd rather build for what's coming than optimise for what's already behind us.

I live a remote lifestyle travelling Australia, built on the same principle I bring to my work, systems create freedom when you build them properly.
